My overall conclusion for my audience feedback I think is positive as I think I have attracted my target audience and they loved all the products I made. As you can see they believe that all my products linked together and they would go and see the full film after seeing my film poster, magazine cover and teaser trailer.

Remake: Film Magazine Cover 2

After reading the feedback and seeing what changes I needed to make to me film magazine cover, I took on the advice and altered the certain factors that needed to be changed. Hopefully, my film magazine cover will look more professional and interesting.
I redid my magazine cover twice to see which effects looks more like a magazine cover and to see which one looks the most professional.

Film Magazine Cover Editing - Magazine Cover

This is the overall film magazine cover that I have created, I edited the image onto the magazine cover and made sure the text was still easy to understand and read. After I inputted the image I faded the edges out to give the image a more natural look on the magazine, I believe it has made the image look more professional and makes it look blended into the overall product; thus making it look more interesting.  Overall I think my film magazine cover is showing everything that I wanted it to show; creating fear and tension within the audience while showing the viewers this film featured and magazine is a horror typed genre.

Film Magazine Cover Editing - Layout, Fonts & Extras

Layout
This is what the layout of my film magazine cover will look like. The main image will be put in the blank space on the right. As you can see the masthead has the biggest text size as this will grab the reader’s attention to what this magazine is called ‘Hellish’. The featured film text is the next biggest to show the audience that this is the main topic in this magazine, by having the text this size it will grab the reader’s attention to the title and then the image that goes along with it. The subheading/ sell lines are in a smaller font as these are not as important but they do have a significant role on the magazine cover, as these will attract more readers as it shows them what the magazine has to offer. The smallest text is the information about the issue number and price, this is because it is less important than the other information on the magazine cover, the size is the smallest as I don’t want something like this taking the spotlight from the sell lines or masthead; as this will make the magazine cover look boring and not interesting, and so the company will lose profits.  I have smaller images on the magazine cover to link into the sell lines and to fill up empty space, by doing this it makes my magazine look professional and more interesting.
Fonts
Mast Head
I used ‘Acid Label’ for my mast head as I found it suitable for my magazine cover, I found it interesting and bold to look at and it also grabs the viewer’s attention. Acid Label has a creative style to it which I think links into the horror aspect of my magazine cover; thus making my magazine look more thought out and professional.
The masthead will be in the colour red with a grey outline as the colour red is bold and grabs the viewer’s attention easily, the grey outline makes the text seen a bit more 3-D; thus making the magazine again look professional. The red also conflicts but yet blends greatly with the black background and so links into my colour scheme, making the magazine look consistent.
Title of Film
I have used this font for the film title as it looks unique and professional; I also liked the way it looked on my magazine cover, it stands out from the other font on the magazine and so will attract the audience’s attention.  The style of the font also looks suitable for a horror genre product as it looks rough in texture and is eye catching.
I will have the colour of this font a shade of red to again link into my colour scheme and to give a vibe of blood and rust, plus red is bold and grabs the reader’s attention better; thus making it easier for the audience to spot the magazine cover from the others.
Sell lines / Sub-Headings
I used this font for sub-headings and sell lines as it look very professional and formal; thus making it easy to understand and read, I don’t want the sell lines taking away the spotlight of the masthead or film title as the magazine will then look too cluttered and boring, so by having a font like this, it will make my magazine look more clearer to read and well thought out.
The text is the colour white/ grey as it will stand out against the dark background and so be easier for the audience to read the information.
Extras
To fill up some empty space I thought I would add some effects of blood splatters, this will also link into the horror genre as blood is a part of this genre, this will also help the audience in seeing what genre the magazine is and gives an insight into what the magazine has to offer. I made the blood overlap some of the images/ text used; this is so the smaller images look blended into the magazine cover and so the text looked more interest and tension filled, overall I think the blood splatters gives a creepy atmosphere that will hopefully create fear within the audience.

Film Magazine Cover Editing - Finished Image

Here is my finished edited image that I am going to be using for my film magazine cover. As you can see I have used the main image of the doll and added the overlay/texture on it by using Photoshop, the overall effect has made the main image look more creepy and scary looking; you can tell it’s not a pleasant thing; I was hoping to achieve this as my overall idea is on horror and wanting to create fear within the audience. When editing the overall image I used Photoshop to change the lighting of the image; I created more shadows and dulled the bright colours down to give an impression of death and fear, I also wanted the doll to show up more through the texture so again I changed the ‘levels’ of the image and it produced this end effect; which I’m happy with, I believe that this ending effect has made the image look professional, creepy and gives off a terror atmosphere.

Film Magazine Cover Editing - Image

Main Image

I am going to use this photo as my main image as it is a main prop from the teaser trailer, by doing this people will connect each other together and so they will be able to remember the film easily, meaning more profit for the film.  The camera shot has been made so you can see the detail on the dolls face and clothing, meaning it will be interesting to look at the image, plus as the doll has that old fashioned vibe to it, it will link into the horror genre as it looks creepy.  The angle is eye view so it looks as though the doll/ prop is staring at the audience and hopefully this will create the vibe of tension and fear.
Overlay/ Background

I will use this texture as it will create an old and rusty look to the overall image; it will also create depth in the picture by creating more shadows and dulling any bright colours that are not needed.  This texture will blend into the main image and make the overall image look professional and creepy as it looks unique and creates fear within the audience; overall it will link the image into the genre of my overall trailer and media idea; horror.

Which Flat Plan - Film Magazine Cover?

I will use the flat plan 2 for my film magazine cover as I think this has the best opportunity to attract my target audience, I believe that this layout will look professional and will make the audience want to buy the magazine as it will look interesting.  Compared to film magazine cover 1, I think I can edit the magazine to look more realistic and unique, whist still making it have similar features to other magazine front covers.

Flat Plan - Film Magazine Cover 2

Flat Plan

Film Magazine Cover 2

This image above is my second film magazine cover flat plan that will advertise to the audience about a new film that is coming out in the cinema. I will like my magazine cover to link into my teaser trailer by giving the overall look a horror feel; as my teaser trailer is horror genre.  I would also like the audience to identify the magazine cover to my trailer, by the images, font and colours used; this is so my trailer will get recognized easier and so more people will go and watch the full film as they are reminded about it, thus will increase the profits of the film as it will be well known.
Film magazine cover 2 has most of film magazine cover 1 ideas and concepts, the only differences are the position of where the different texts /information/ images all go on the magazine cover.
On film magazine cover 2, the image is placed to the right hand side of the cover; instead of being in the centre like magazine cover 1. I think this makes the magazine cover look more professional as you are still attracted to the image but you are also attracted to other information on the magazine cover, also the magazine does not look too overpowering or hard to understand.  When looking at other magazine covers they have a similar style and I think it looks really ‘polished’ the overall layout, it makes me want to read the magazine as everything is set out clear. The image will be the same image used in my first flat plan, the main image will be a full body shot of the doll used in the teaser trailer, by using the main prop as the image people can link the picture with the film and so it will be easier for the audience to know what film is being featured. The angle of the image will be straight forward as this will make the audience feel a bit tension as the prop/ doll will be looking directly at the audience, thus creating the fear that is represented in the teaser trailer, by doing this the audience will be able to understand that this magazine cover shows a horror genre film; targeting the audience at a higher rate as they think about the poster in more depth. I will edit the image to have a grunge effect as this will make the overall image look creepy and old; thus linking into the idea of horror and fear.
On top of the magazine I will have sell lines to fill up empty space, this will make the magazine look more professional as it will seem more interesting as it features loads of ‘goodies and prizes’ . Below this I will have the masthead covering from left to right so this will grab the viewers attention, as they will see what the magazine is called; this will be easier for already existing fans to notice the magazine  and so the magazine won’t lose out on any profits. Underneath the masthead I will have the subheading/ tagline for the magazine, this will be bold to give a taster to the audience to see what the magazine is all about; thus it will attract more viewers. On the right hand side I will have the barcode and extra information about the issue number and price; this is so it will be easy for the audience to locate this information about prices, as they will want to know how much the magazine costs.
Next to the main image I will have other information and sell lines that show the audiences what else the magazine has to offer, by doing this the viewers will want to  buy the magazine as they will know they will get loads of information for their money.  Underneath the main image I will have the title of the film; this will link into the image and so will make the magazine look more professional as everything is easy to understand.  At the bottom of the magazine cover I will have more sell lines, this will ensure to the audience that this magazine is worth the money, it will also make the magazine seem interesting and bold.
Just like my film poster and film magazine cover 1, the overall colour scheme will be dull , dark and mysterious as that will represent the whole film, it will also give suggestions that this film will be horror as the audience will know these colours are seen as ‘unhappy’ and perhaps ‘evil’ tones. I will properly use the colours, black/grey, dark red, and dark blue, the black/grey will give the vibe of tension as it will contrast with brighter colours that express happiness and luck, these colours are more likely to show a sad and stressed time of someone’s life. The dark red could be seen and interpreted as the colour of blood or rust, which will link into the horror genre of my magazine cover, film poster and teaser trailer. The dark red could also be another way of grabbing the viewers attention as red is seen as bold and eye catching.  I would use the dark blue as it will contrast with the red but will also link into the message of sadness and fear as it can symbolise a misty or foggy future, and like what I said previously, the unknown can create fear.  These colours will hopefully make the magazine cover look professional and will attract the viewers attention to go and watch the teaser trailer and whole film.
Similar to the flan plan on film magazine cover 1, I would partly use a continuous font scheme as this will make my magazine cover look more consistent and professional for the audience. It will make the magazine cover clearer to read and so the information about the film can be taken easily; thus letting the audience know more about the featured film.  I will use 3 different types of font, the masthead will be one font as this will symbolise the magazine and name of it, if this font is eye catching, bold and interesting more viewers are likely to go and buy the magazine.  The title of the film will be another font as this will express the important of the featured film, also by having another font the audience will know this is an important factor on the magazine cover; thus suggesting this is the featured article or film. Lastly, extra information and sub heading/ sell lines will be another font as this will make my magazine look more consistent and professional, it shows the audience that these are not as important as the masthead or main title, but they give extra information out; again making it easier for the viewers to understand the overall layout of the magazine cover. All font types will express tension and will either show a formal side that will be easy to understand, (for the extra information) or a custom side that will have its own twist on the letters, and will look interesting to read (titles). Hopefully this will make my magazine cover look more realistic and fun to read and look it.

Flat Plan - Film Magazine Cover 1

Flat Plan

Film Magazine Cover 1
This image above is my first flat plan for a film magazine cover that will advertise to the audience about a new film that is coming out in the cinema.
Film magazine cover 1 will show the image in the middle of the cover with text on either side of the image, either talking about the film itself or just having sell lines that will attract more readers to take notice of the overall magazine.  By having the main image in the middle it is more likely that the audience will see this image first and will be attracted to what the magazine is featuring. The main image will be a full body shot of the doll used in the teaser trailer, by using the main prop as the image people can link the picture with the film and so it will be easier for the audience to know what film is being featured.
On the top of the magazine cover I will have the masthead in the left corner as the audience read left to right and so will see the title of the magazine first, by doing this the audience will see what type of magazine it is and will be attracted to it. The masthead will link into the overall genre of the magazine and will be made to stand out from other magazine names, making this magazine more unique.  In the right corner I will have the tagline/slogan for the magazine; this will give a bit more detail into what the magazine has to offer to the audience, and so will attract the viewers to read and buy the magazine.
Near the bottom of the magazine cover, I will have the title of the film, this will be close to the image as they both link together; by doing this it will be easier to get more information from the featured film, also it will make the magazine cover look more professional.  Underneath this the featured films slogan will be written, this will be similar to a teaser/ cliff-hanger as it will try to grab the audience’s attention to go and see the film. On the very bottom of the magazine there will be more sell lines to make the magazine look worth buying as it has loads of information inside; again this will make the audience want to buy the magazine.
Just like my film poster, the overall colour scheme will be dull , dark and mysterious as that will represent the whole film, it will also give suggestions that this film will be horror as the audience will know these colours are seen as ‘unhappy’ and perhaps ‘evil’ tones.

Film Poster Editing - Film Poster

This is the overall film poster that I have created, I edited the image onto the poster and made sure that the text was still easy to understand and read. After this I edited the image to give it an effect of distortion that would link into the tension and unknown atmosphere that I was trying to create within my audience.  I believe the overall look of the image is good and will hopefully make my poster look more professional and well thought out. After this I then faded the image into the background to make the image look more natural and interesting to look at.  Overall I think my poster is showing everything that I wanted it to show; creating fear and tension within the audience while showing the viewers this film is a horror typed genre.

Film Poster Editing - Layout, Fonts & Extras

Layout

This is what the layout of my film poster is going to look like. The image will be put in to the middle whilst there is writing above and below it.
The name of the movie is the biggest text size as this will attract the viewers to see what the movie is called and so they can easily remember it.  The date of release is then in a smaller text size as this is not as important as the main title, but the audience still needs to know when it comes out. Underneath this there is extra information explaining who made the film, this text size is slightly bigger than the date of release as it will inform the audience of the creators, this will help the audience understand what type of movie this film poster is expressing about.  Above the main image there will be a slogan, this text size is big as this will attract the viewer’s attention, by having a quick and catchy slogan it will give a taste of what the film is about and will make the audience want to see the film.
Font

Main Title

I used ‘Bitstream Vera Serif’ for the main title as this font is used on my trailer, by doing this it will link my poster and trailer together; it will also be easier for the audience to identify and link each advertisement  together as they will recognize the font, making my poster and trailer look more professional.

The main heading/title will be in the colour red as red represents danger, horror, blood, evil and so this will link into the horror and fear aspect that I want to create within my audience. Red is also a bold and catchy colour that will be easy to read and understand, meaning the poster will look professional and understandable.

Slogan

I have used this font for the slogan as it looks unique and professional; I also liked the way it looked on my poster, it stands out from the other font on the poster and so will attract the audience’s attention.

The text is the colour white/ grey as it will stand out against the dark background and so be easier for the audience to read the information.

Sub Headings

I used this font for the sub headings and extra information as this font looks professional as you normally see a similar type on other film posters or trailers; it will make the audience think my poster is well thought out and so hopefully will want to see the film.
Like the colour for the slogan text, the sub heading text is the colour white/ grey as it will stand out against the dark background and so be easier for the audience to read the information.

Extras

To fill up some blank space I edited an image onto the bottom of the poster, by doing this it grabs the viewer’s attention to where the title of the film is and, to where all the other information about the film is; it also makes the poster look interesting to view, so the audience is more likely to stop and retain the information on the poster. The image itself is of mist and it creates a creepy atmosphere as mist can be a metaphor for the unknown or fear; by having this affect it will link into the overall genre of the film poster and will make the poster look professional.

Film Poster Editing - Finished Image

Here is my edited image that I am going to use to put on my film poster. As you can see I have edited the skull onto the characters face then to smooth everything out I have edited a background and overlay on top of the characters face. I believe it has created a creepy and ‘horror’ type look to the overall image, which I was hoping to achieve as my overall idea is on horror and wanting to create fear within the audience. When editing the overall image I used Photoshop to change the lighting of the image; I created more shadows and dulled the bright colours down to give an impression of death and fear, however I also wanted the image to look professional so I created some highlights around the skull parts to show a sense of 3-D to the audience, this is so the poster looks unique and edited well.

Film Poster Editing - Image

Main Image

I am going to use this photo as my main image on my poster as you will be able to see the detail of the characters face better as it is a close up shot. The angle is eye view so it looks as though the character is staring at the audience and hopefully this will create the vibe of tension and fear. I will find it easier to edit on the face too as you can see detail and facial expressions better, making the main image look more professional and realistic. By using this image it also links into my trailer as the character is in it, this will make my film poster look more professional and more thought out.
Editing Image

To create the horror aspect of the film poster I am going to edit this skull onto the characters face, I will edit it so half of the skull is showing through the flesh; this will create fear within the audience as this is not something human and it gives of a creepy vibe.
Overlay/Background

I will use this texture as it will create an old and rusty look to the overall image; it will also create depth in the picture by creating more shadows and dulling any bright colours that are not needed.  This texture will smooth out any small errors made when editing the skull onto the face, and overall it will link the image into the genre of my overall trailer and media idea; horror.

Which Flat Plan - Film Poster?

I will use the first flat plan on film poster 1 as I think this has the best opportunity to attract my target audience, I believe there are a lot of positive points about how I will make this poster and how I will make it look professional and interesting. Compared to my second flat plan of film poster 2 I have more of an idea of what I want in my poster, and I think by having this my poster will become something good to read and so will hopefully link into my overall teaser trailer and ideas based on my Media coursework.

Flat Plan - Film Poster 2

Flat Plan

Film poster 2
This image above is my second flat plan for a film poster that will link into my teaser trailer. I would like my poster to be edited in a way that the audience can identity my teaser trailer with; this is so my trailer will get recognized easier and so more people will go and watch the full film as they are reminded about it, thus will increase the profits of the film as it will be well known.
Film poster 2 has most of film poster 1 ideas and concepts, the only differences are the position of where the different texts /information go on the posters and what the image will look like.
On film poster 2 I would have a full body/ long shot of one of the main characters, this is so the audience can get a feel for what some of the characters in the film are like, also you will be able to see their body language clearly and will be able to see details of their costume and make-up. I would make the costume and make up look dull and dark to represent a horror genre film, the body language would be creepy and not inviting as I want to make the audience feel suspense, and by doing this it will attract more viewers as it plays with their emotions. The image will be at the side so it will grab the viewer’s attention as it will take up most of the poster, and by doing this you can get a good image to use for a full body shot. The side position can also let the audience read the text first as we read left to right, and so they will see the text before the image, by doing this the audience will remember the name of the film and then associate it with the image they see afterwards, meaning if they see the image or title again they will recognized this film, and go and watch it; thus creating more profit. Another effect the side image has is, you can edit the image in different places making the overall poster look more professional and well thought out, I could edit a background that could reflect the idea of fear and tension; for example mist or fog; showing the unknown. The camera angle will be the same as film poster 1, straight forward, to again make the audience feel a bit tension as the character will be looking directly at the audience, thus creating the fear that is represented in the teaser trailer, by doing this the audience will be able to understand that this poster shows a horror genre film; targeting the audience at a higher rate as they think about the poster in more depth.  By having the image overtake most of the poster, it will make the audience feel consumed by the poster, making it feel more realistic and professional.
I would have all the title and information boxes at the left side of the poster as this will not block the view of the main image, by having all the information together it will be more easier to find all the information you need for this film; for example the release date of the film. I would have the subtitle/slogan first to grab the viewers attention, like my first flat plan, I would make it catchy so it will invite the viewer to keep on reading, it will also make the poster seem interesting and witty to read.  I would have the title underneath the slogan/subtitle as this is the most important text on the poster, this will show the audience the name of the film being shown on this poster. By having this here it will again grab the reader’s attention. I would have the title in the biggest font on the poster so it will be bold and easier for the audience to read from a far away distance (if they see the poster while driving past a billboard).  In the bottom left corner I would have the extra information about the company name, release date and other film details as this is less significant than the tile but still important for the viewer, as they find out more about this film and when it is coming out in the cinema. Without this the audience will not know when the film is coming out and so might forget about the overall film; thus loss in profits.
Just like in film poster 1, I would have the overall colour scheme will be dull , dark and mysterious as that will represent the whole film, it will also give suggestions that this film will be horror as the audience will know these colours are seen as ‘unhappy’ and perhaps ‘evil’ tones. I will properly use the colours, black/grey, dark red, and dark blue, the black/grey will give the vibe of tension as it will contrast with brighter colours that express happiness and luck, these colours are more likely to show a sad and stressed time of someone’s life. The dark red could be seen and interpreted as the colour of blood or rust, which is commonly used in horror film posters. This is another way of letting the audience know this poster and film is horror genre, the dark red could also be another way of grabbing the viewers attention as red is seen as bold and eye catching.  I would use the dark blue as it will contrast with the red but will also link into the message of sadness and fear as it can symbolise a misty or foggy future, and like what I said previously, the unknown can create fear.  These colours will hopefully make the poster look professional and will attract the viewers attention to go and watch the teaser trailer and whole film.
Similar to flat plan 1, I would partly use a continuous font scheme as this will make my poster look more consistent and professional for the audience. It will make the poster clearer to read and so the information about the film can be taken easily; thus letting the audience know more about the film’s release date and genre.  I will use two different types of font, the subtitle/slogan and main title will be one font to link the titles together, and the extra information will be in another font to link the information together, this will make it easier for the viewer to take the information they want from the poster. Both different types of font will express tension and will either show a formal side that will be easy to understand, (for the extra information) or a custom side that will have its own twist on the letters, and will look interesting to read ( titles ) . Hopefully this will make my poster look more realistic and fun to read and look it.

I would like my poster to be edited in a way that the audience can identity my teaser trailer with; this is so my trailer will get recognized easier and so more people will go and watch the full film as they are reminded about it, thus will increase the profits of the film as it will be well known.
Film Poster 1 shows the main image in the centre as this will catch the viewer’s attention first and depending on the image, it will attract the viewer to look in more depth at the film poster.  The image will show a medium / close up shot of the character Henry Danyetta’s face; this is so the audience can see the facial expressions of the boy better and in more detail. The angle of the image will be straight forward as this will make the audience feel a bit tension as the character will be looking directly at the audience, thus creating the fear that is represented in the teaser trailer, by doing this the audience will be able to understand that this poster shows a horror genre film; targeting the audience at a higher rate as they think about the poster in more depth.  The body language of the character will be emotionless as this will create fear within the audience as you don’t know what to expect from the character, the unknown could create this fear. The character will also have make-up on this face that will represent his costume shown in the teaser trailer; the make-up again will express the horror genre as it will be dull and creepy looking.  I will edit the characters face to again make the poster look more creepy and professional, by doing this it will catch the audience’s attention as the poster looks like something promising. I will edit the face to have half a normal looking side, and the other side will either have a skull slowly rotten through the flesh of the skin or it will have more demoniac face.
This flat plan also shows that a slogan/ subtitle will be placed at the top of the poster, this will attract the viewers attention as we humans tend to look at the top of a poster first than the bottom, if the slogan is catchy enough for the audience they may want to read and see more of the poster, they could gather more information about the release date of the film or just to get an overall feel of what the film will be like. The slogan itself will be a type of teaser as it will make you wonder what does it mean, and so the audience may want to watch the film to find out; thus gaining more profit.
Near the bottom of the page I have put the main title of the Film, this text will be the biggest size as it needs to grab the viewers attention and make a good statement to them, by doing this the audience will remember the name better, and they will not have to search for what the film is called, as the text will be bold and interesting to look at.  The title of the teaser trailer will set the tone for the trailer, making the poster look professional and worthy of the audience’s time to check this film out.
Underneath this title I will have extra information about the release date of the film as this is also another important factor to have on a film poster. By having the date of release here, the viewers will see the title and so they will know when the film comes out as this information is just underneath it, thus linking the information on the poster altogether, making it easier for the viewer to understand the whole thing. Without the release date of the film the audience will not know when to go and see this film and so, might forget about this whole film; leading to loss in profits
Underneath the information about the date of release there is another information box that will only show the company name and year the film came out, this is here to make the poster look professional and to let the audience know the background details of the film. By showing who the company is, this will give recognition to the company and so they will be better know in the public eye. It can also give a taster to what the film is going to be like; for example, if that company is well known for horror, the audience will know this is another horror film that will most likely be interesting and good to watch.
The overall colour scheme will be dull , dark and mysterious as that will represent the whole film, it will also give suggestions that this film will be horror as the audience will know these colours are seen as ‘unhappy’ and perhaps ‘evil’ tones.
I would partly use a continuous font scheme as this will make my poster look more consistent and professional for the audience.

Mise en scene

Mise en scene
The mise en scene in my trailer shows a variety of British culture and can set the tone for the movie.
In the first scene you can see the decor of the house, it gives the vibe of an small house that will be lived in by the older generation; as the younger generation  have more colour and texture in their decor when creating their dream house, they care about the style of what their home looks like. By having this effect is can also give a creepy vibe as everything look plain and unique from these modern homes that have this ‘texture and colour’ decor.  The outside scene shows an angle of the backyard, it shows you the mise scene of the house again, you can see the old coloured bricks used to build the house, this will make you think of tension as it fits into what a horror film mise en scene would look like; creating suspense within the audience.  This scene will look different to a typical Hollywood film as America has new looking houses that contrast with this old looking house, the houses are bigger than the ones in Britain and look more money invested, by having this contrast you can tell that this movie will be filmed in Britain. Another thing is, in this same scene the character goes over to a wheelie bin, this type of bin is associated with Britain as American has  different types of bins , and this bin is seen as traditional; just like Britain’s culture.
The scene when the character is running to the house shows a British style too, as in America they have bigger houses and with them have post boxes outside their homes, in Britain we have post boxes in our door and this can show the audience some differences between American and British movies, letting the audience understand British culture easier.
The characters can also give the audience some clues to what type of culture made this film, as the clothing of the characters expresses the style of country. Luke’s [Henry Danyetta] costume was based on the old fashioned clothes that represented the north east of England in the times of mining. The makeup on his face was to express dirt as though he was living in the ‘old days’ when everybody looked not clean and worked hard to get money.  You would normally see this type of costume in British movies and so this would show the audience another cultural difference and significance to the trailers origins.  Gary’s [Jordan Banks] costume shows a more modern style of clothing but you can tell it’s still a British linked trailer, as people in American may wear more designer clothing and will have a different fashion sense to people in Britain.  The dog Misty, can also signify a typical British movie as ‘sheep dogs’ are commonly used in British movies, for example ‘Babe’, even though America has this breed in their country it always comes back to England as the border collie is most seen in the north east of England, where they are in the country side chasing sheep. Britain is known for their country side and so this links into showing the audience the cultural differences between American and Britain through films. The accents of the characters also help to express the British culture as people in America don’t speak this accent, the audience will be able to tell and understand that this trailer must be a British film as this accent is unique in other parts of the world; this accent will be seen as a north east of England accent.

Song Choice

Song Choice
I wanted a song that would represent my teaser trailer, music that would be creepy, unsettling and would create fear within the audience; this is my plan from the start (to create fear and terror within the viewers).
I searched for the right song and found 2 song choices that I could have used. Both fitted into my ideal song choice, however whilst search for songs I also came across sound effects that could make my trailer creepy and more professional.
The song choices I picked were:
-          Call of Duty Black Ops:  Damned
-          Endless Demento
The song choice of ‘Call of Duty Black Ops’ would have been really creepy and fitted my teaser trailer as it reflected the genre of horror. However, it is a popular music track and so it would not be original. I found that when I did try to edit my teaser trailer that it was hard to fit my clips with the instruments played, also the music  just repeats the same tune over and over again, which will give my trailer no complex or shape, which would be used for building up dramatic scenes. Without this my trailer would look plain to the audience and they would lose interest.

The song choice of ‘Endless Demento’ was also another great track to use, however again I found myself struggling to edit my clips within this piece of music. It did build up a small dramatic climax in the middle however the creepy music suddenly changes into a fast beaty tune that ruins the mood for the trailer, thus only giving me 55 seconds to create my teaser trailer which would be too short.

In the end I decided to just use loads of different sound effects and small parts of tunes that were made for the public/viewer to use for free, so no copyright material was taken. I tried to create a dramatic song that will keep the audience watching, by adding build ups in the music to create tension and to make the overall trailer look professional. I added in some sound effects that I made to make the trailer seem more real, and to let me be more involved with the production. I believe by doing this, it will make the trailer look more interesting and unique.  When text came on I tried to use a certain trend of music to create tension and suspense within the audience, as they will be wondering what scene will come on next.  Overall, I believe the music was a success as it does everything I planned out; creating fear, tension and unsettlement within the audience.

Font Choice

Font Choice
I wanted to have my font on my teaser trailer to link into the genre of the whole plot, I did not want the font to look too over the top, and yet I did not want the font to look boring, or in some ways too childish.
This is why I decided to pick a few good fonts that I liked, and compare them together to see which one gave the best effect.
The fonts I picked were:
-          Bitstream Vera Serif
-          Men in Black
-          True Blood
-          Sheffield
After look at all the fonts I thought could be a possibility, I chose ‘Bitstream Vera Serif’ as it seemed the most professional and bold font that would catch somebody’s attention.

The ‘men in black’ font did have that creepy feel to it; however it looked childish and may not have linked into the atmosphere of ‘fear’

The ‘true blood’ font also looked a bit childish and did not look unique; it also did not seem to fit into my production of my teaser trailer as this font would be suited in an action typed trailer instead.

Finally, the ‘Sheffield’ font looked a bit boring and not unique; it seemed plain for my teaser trailer. I wanted to create an intense trailer for my audience to watch as this would increase awareness of the film.
